Cover for your caravan if it's damaged in an accident.

Caravan Contents
CGU covers items that are permanently kept in your caravan if they're damaged or stolen in an incident CGU covers (up to $1,000).

Food spoilage
Cover for spoiled food and prescription medicine up to $500 if a power outage causes your fridge to stop working.

Optional Benefits

Choose from these optional benefits when you're getting a quote.

Blue square No excess for glass damage
Add an option to avoid paying an excess when your windscreen, window glass or sunroof is the only thing damaged in a covered incident (let CGU know and CGU will arrange the repairs).
 
Blue square Lay up cover
By adding lay up cover you may reduce your premium (and the cover CGU provides) for an agreed time while you're not using your caravan.
 
Blue square Motor burnout
Add cover for electric motor burnout in things like fridges and air conditioning units, including parts and labour3.

Emergency repairs
CGU pays for repairs you need to make after an incident CGU covers so that your caravan's safe to use or tow (up to $800).

Towing
CGU pays for towing to a repairer or safe place if your caravan can't be used after an incident CGU covers.

New replacement
If your caravan's written off in its first two years, CGU tries to replace it with a similar new caravan.

Temporary accommodation
If your holiday caravan can't be used after a covered incident and you're more than 100kms from home, CGU pays for temporary accommodation (up to $1,000).

Liability Cover
CGU covers your legal liability in certain situations if someone's injured or their property's damaged by your caravan (up to $20m)2.
 

Not Included

There are some things CGU doesn't cover:

Large black square Off-road use
Unless your caravan is designed for it, CGU doesn't cover damage from driving off-road.
 
Large black square Wear and tear
CGU doesn't cover normal wear and tear that happens as you use your caravan.
Are the things inside my caravan covered?

Caravan Insurance covers items that are permanently kept inside your caravan, like furniture, bedding and appliances. To cover items you take outside your caravan (like jewellery, phones and laptops), check out Home Contents Insurance.

Can I use my caravan during the lay up period?

CGU will cover your touring caravan during the lay up period if you've told CGU and CGU agrees to the use. You'll also need to pay any extra premium that applies.

Things you should know:

1.CGU may not cover you for some severe weather events during an embargo period (which is usually when CGU knows a severe weather event is about to occur).

2.CGU covers your legal liability for death or bodily injury to someone else, or loss or damage to someone else's property for an incident we cover.

3. CGU can cover motors for up to 15 years after they were made.

Accidental damage
Cover your boat for loss or damage caused by accidental damage.
 
Fire, storm and flood
Cover your boat for loss or damage caused by a fire, storm or flood1.
 
 Theft or attempted theft
Cover your boat for loss or damage caused by theft or attempted theft.
 
 Collision or crash
Cover your boat for loss or damage resulting from collisions or crashes.
 
 Emergency repairs
CGU pay for emergency repairs to secure or drive your boat if it’s damaged in a covered event (up to $800).
 
 

Optional Benefits

Choose from these optional benefits when you're getting a quote.

Blue square Lay up cover
Add an option to reduce your premium by choosing lay up cover for up to 12 months while you're not using it.
 
Blue square Liability cover for water skiing and floatation devices
Add an option to extend your liability cover to include cover for when your boat is towing a waterskier or a person on a floatation device.
 
Blue square Racing risk extension
Add an option to cover your sailboat when you're racing it in certain events (less than 50 nm radius).
Hull inspection
If you need to check if there's loss or damage to your hull after an event we cover, CGU pay the reasonable cost of a hull inspection.
 
Liability cover
Cover for up to $10 million for the liability of you or anyone with permission to control your boat, if its use causes property damage, death or injury to another person.
 
 Emergency transport and accommodation
If your boat can’t be driven or used after certain covered events (more than 100km from home), CGU pay for temporary accommodation and emergency transport (up to $1,000, on top of your agreed value).
 
 Towing
If an incident CGU coverscauses loss or damage to your boat and it's unsafe for you to tow, CGU will pay to take your boat to a repairer or a safe place. This is paid on top of your agreed value.

Trailer Cover

Need your trailer to be ready when you are? CGU cover theft, damage, fire and more.

New replacement
CGU can replace your trailer with a new one if it's written off in its first 2 years in an incident CGU cover (your trailer must have been new or a demonstration model when you bought it)1.
 
Fire, storm and flood
You’re covered if your trailer is damaged by fire, storm, flood or tsunami.
 
 Theft and damage
You’re covered if your trailer is vandalised, stolen or accidentally damaged.
  
 Emergency repairs
CGU covers you for agreed emergency repairs you need to make after an incident it covers, so that your trailer’s safe to tow (up to $800).
 
 Towing and storage
CGU pays for towing to a repairer or safe place if your trailer is damaged and can’t be used after an incident it covers. CGU also pays reasonable storage costs for your trailer until it’s repaired or CGU settles your claim (whichever comes first).

Things you should know

1 Conditions apply to this additional benefit, including that your trailer must weigh less than 3.5 tonne.

Motorcycle Cover

Comprehensive Motorcycle Insurance covers your motorcycle for things such as accidental damage, collision or crash, fire, flood, storm, theft or attempted theft, vandalism or a malicious act. CGU also covers any licensed rider who rides your motorcycle, even if they're not listed on your policy1.

 Collision or crash
Cover your motorbike for loss or damage resulting from collisions or crashes.
 
Accidental damage
Cover your motorbike for loss or damage caused by accidental damage.
 
 Theft and vandalism
Cover for your motorcycle if it's stolen, vandalised or accidentally damaged.
 
Fire, storm, flood and earthquake
You’re covered if your trailer is damaged by fire, storm, flood or tsunami.
 
New replacement
If your bike’s written off in its first two years, CGU tries to replace it with a similar new bike. 

Optional Covers

Blue square Hire car up to $75 a day for up to 21 days
Add an option to hire a car after an incident CGU covers, up to $75 a day for up to 21 days.
 
Blue square Protective clothing
If your protective clothing is stolen from your motorcycle or damaged in an incident CGU covers, we will pay the cost to replace them.
Liability cover
CGU covers your legal liability in certain situations if someone's property's damaged by your motorcycle (up to $20m).
 
Helmet replacement after a covered incident
If your helmet is damaged in a covered incident, we will pay for the cost to replace it.
 
Emergency repairs (up to $800) after a covered incident
  
Tools of trade up to $1,500 (business use vehicles) after a covered incident

Things you should know
1.Cover is subject to standard underwriting guidelines and policy terms. Additional excesses apply for undisclosed drivers, including for drivers under 25.
